Calling all mountain biking enthusiasts and outdoorsmen to join us for a four-day biking adventure!

The long weekend in May is an ideal opportunity to discover hidden gems, savour the authentic cuisine of Lika, and embark on a cycling trip to remember 🚴‍♂️🌿

Programme and Schedule:

1 May (Thursday) – Plitvice Valleys

We’ll celebrate International Workers’ Day with a biking classic in the company of family and friends! 🚴♀️ Our cycling journey across Plitvice Valleys promises captivating views of the outskirts of Lika. The route will take us to the Bićanić family estate and Deer Valley – a true fairy-tale setting. 🦌🦌 After touring the ranch, we’ll ride to the medieval fortress Stari Grad Drežnik, where we’ll delve into the area’s rich and tumultuous history. We’ll also visit the Korana River Canyon and enjoy the picturesque village of Korana, where we can indulge in local delicacies. To wrap up our day, we’ll gather for a group lunch at Plitvice Art Farm.

2 May (Friday) – Ascent to Gola Plješivica

Gola Plješivica is one of the most beautiful and attractive peaks in Lika, known for the abandoned military structure „Ličko orlovo gnijezdo“ (The Eagle’s Nest of Lika). The limestone cliff, known as Lička kapa, and a 360° panoramic view will be your reward for the climb. 🌄

3 May (Saturday) – Saborsko Bike Tour

Join us on an asphalt ride along the serpentine Korana River Canyon, where we’ll enjoy spectacular lookouts of Plitvička Jezera National Park. As we roll along, the distant sound of cascading waterfalls will accompany us, while the canopies of beech and spruce trees will provide sunshade. At the 23 km mark, local food awaits. The return to Rakovica will include a 10 km gravel descent, and adrenaline seekers can try out the Black Queen Trail 🚵‍♂️

4 May (Sunday) – Janja Gora Bike Tour

Sunday is reserved for exploring the untrodden slopes of Kapela Mountain, as well as various springs, and karst phenomena. Along the way, we’ll delve into the mysteries of the Lake Blata with its subterranean drain, and learn about the curious history of the Lika railway, all with pure spring water aplenty! 💧 After our explorations, we’ll gather for a delightful group lunch back at the lovely atelier.

Fee includes: T-shirt, water bottle, tickets for sights, snacks, lunch, support vehicle, GPS tracks, and other organisational costs.
