Nikola Tesla Memorial Centre

A must-visit unique multimedia centre is located in the birthplace of one of the greatest inventors of our time

Not far from Plitvice Valleys, in the village of Smiljan, the “father of modern technology” Nikola Tesla took his first steps, and on the 150th anniversary of his birth, a memorial centre was opened – a one that is special just like himself.

It spreads over more than 13,000 square metres where history, science, art, and tourism are skilfully intertwined, and the facilities it has been offering for 15 years delight visitors of all ages.

In Tesla’s birth house, there is a permanent exhibition presenting the life of the “father of modern technology” in pictures, words and sound, as well as replicas of his inventions that changed the world. As part of the visit, you should definitely watch a documentary about Tesla and listen to the 100-year-old praises of the Mayor of New York Fiorella La Guardia about our genius. Due to great interest, it is necessary to make an appointment in advance for a visit on Saturday or Sunday.
