Aquatika

The only freshwater aquarium in this part of Europe

Freshwater aquarium Aquatika is an attraction in every aspect: educational, ecological, tourist, and even scientific. No other European country has such a large, preserved, and diverse water treasure as Croatia, and Aquatika faithfully conveys a part of that insufficiently explored world that is all around us.

Visiting Aquatica is an unforgettable experience from the first moment when a visitor steps into it. More than 100 species of freshwater fish swim in 25 aquarium pools, of which as many as 40 are endemic, and the complete aquarium display was created to follow the flow of a typical karst river with all its colours and sounds. Pools mimic swamps, cave systems, underground habitats, the phenomenon of travertine waterfalls, and flora and fauna in the upper and lower reaches of karst rivers.

Thanks to this miraculous exhibition, visitors will experience the river flow from the source to the mouth and learn all about the fascinating freshwater world in an interesting and exciting way. Aquatika is located in Karlovac, a town on four rivers, which is around 80 kilometres away from Plitvice Valleys.
